ASX Announcement
BLAIR DEEPS RESOURCES CONTINUE TO PERFORM
Australian Mines (ASX:AUZ) is pleased to announce that mining of the Blair Deeps Resources at the Blair Nickel Mine located 32kms from Kalgoorlie have achieved a 17% over call in contained nickel metal in the first six months of 2007/08 than previously calculated in the published 30 June 2007 Resource and Reserve statement.
The Blair Deeps Resources consist mainly of the E03C and C01C shoots and have been continuously mined for over 800m below surface and remain open at depth. The lowest level (370m RL) which was developed prior to New Year confirms the continuity of the orebody at depth.
Australian Mines’ Chief Operating Officer Brett Young said, “We are pleased with the performance and reconciliation of the Blair Deeps resource and believe there is plenty of life left in the mine at depth.”
The grades for each shoot have been mined above 3.5% Ni and 5.0% Ni respectively.
Decline development of the Blair Deeps is ahead of schedule with a new 25m interval level being development every 2.5 months.
The Company plans to drill the Blair Deeps orebody to at least the 200m RL (170 metres below the deepest active mine area) commencing in February 2008.
